Amoise x Camina Collaboration

I'm really excited to be sharing a collaborative winemaking project.

Camina, a steady favourite and iconic restaurant in Whangamatā, has long held a soft spot for me; an open kitchen, food cooked over fire, thoughtfully put together by Barend, and up front, Rowan attentively guiding the room. It’s a place where people know each other well, conversations start easily, and someone invariably asks how the surf is.

The Amoise x Camina Red came to be over some long lunches, dinners and yarns across the kitchen bar and Barend and Rowan's interest around winemaking, whilst talking great food matches (and surf boards).

From the start they wanted to be involved in the winemaking process, to express themselves and the spirit of Camina. Their blend was chosen to compliment their wood fired menu and bold flavours. So we arrived at a beautiful Syrah from the Two Terraces vineyard, with a small amount of old vine Cabernet Franc.

The stunning art work is an original piece by artist Jessica Crowe, her husband being Rowan.

The families involved have created a special hidden gem in Whangamatā, and this wine belongs to that world; of places and people.

The Camina Red is only available at Camina - so book your table today! https://www.camina.co.nz/
